Please donate to the GRASS GIS project!

We are currently collecting funds for the next GRASS GIS community sprint (the last event in Prague, Czech Republic was a great success!)

Note that it is now possible to buy a round of pizza/beer for the developers with a quick click using the PayPal "Buy [pizza/beer/...] Now" button below:

(... more pizza & beer for the developers)

Why donate?

The GRASS GIS project is a volunteer-based organization. There is of course no cost to participate in the project or to use the software. But with our own budget, we can produce even better software and documentation! And if you don't have time to contribute, maybe a (small) donation makes you feel better when using GRASS...

How does it work?

The GRASS GIS project is a founding member of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo), an incorporated not-for-profit organization.

How is the money used?

The donations are controlled in full transparency by the GRASS Project Steering Committee (PSC). We are organizing face-to-face coding sessions (such as in the GRASS Community Sprint Prague 2013) - financial support for developers may be paid to make participation possible. Also bug fixing may be financed - community polls will identify outstanding problems which cannot be fixed on a voluntary basis; or specific bug-bounties can be arranged (please contact us first).
Your ideas are welcome too!
